Booking Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bookings for the weekday evening sessions in summer 2026 have closed. Sorry to the groups that did not manage to secure a paddling session. There is far more demand than we can cater for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Booking Restrictions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year we sold out very quickly and many groups were disappointed not to secure any sessions. Could we please ask groups only to book one paddling session per child initially for the first 2 weeks of the booking window (2th – 15th Feb). Any sessions available after that can be freely booked by groups that want to offer extra sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taster sessions run in the summer months usually between 7 \u2013 9pm. An earlier start time is required for sessions in April because of the earlier sunset times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ratios (max 1:8)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One instructor is required for a maximum group size of 8. The maximum booking is 24 with 3 instructors; subject to instructor availability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limits on Craft selection per evening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can offer a maximum of 3 instructor sessions in total per evening. Out of these 3 sessions
– only 1 can be on SUPs
– up to 2 can be in canoes
– up to 3 can be in kayaks<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please consider this in the craft selection when making your booking. The booking software unfortunately does not enforce these limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Age Range<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can only offer sessions for Scout and Guide age upwards. We are unable to provider sessions for the younger age ranges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a348 per group per session with an ASGCC instructor.

Notes on <\/strong>Groups providing their own Instructor\/s<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Send the completed application form with copies of the coaches documents to canoeing@avonscouts.org.uk<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No bookings with own instructors can be accepted without copies of the permits or appropriate documents. A refund will be given if the documents are correct<\/p>\n\n\n\n
