About us

The Avon Scout & Guide Canoe Club (ASGCC) was established in 1994 at the at Benjamin Perry Boathouse, Phoenix Wharf, Bristol Docks. The club is a joint venture between Avon County Scouts and Girlguiding Bristol & South Gloucestershire.

We aim to provide people of Guide and Scout age and older with an enjoyable paddling experience through the provision of taster sessions and training courses leading toward British Canoeing Awards or Scout Adventurous Activities Paddling Permits. Our sessions comply with rules set by Scouting and Girlguiding.

We provide kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddle boarding sessions with modern, appropriately sized kit to suit paddlers from young members to adults.

The team of instructors hold British Canoeing qualifications and/or hold a scout adventurous activity permit. They are registered with either Girlguiding or the Scout Association as suitable to work with young persons.

We are unable to provide canoeing for the general public.
