Youth Session Bookings – OPENING ON THE 4th FEBRUARY 2025


We have closed the bookings for the summer evening sessions for now, as we want to make sure we have enough instructors to deliver the sessions that have been booked so far. We might allow additional bookings nearer the time if we have enough instructor availability. Email [email protected] mentioning your preferred weekday to be put on a waiting list.

Booking Information

Taster sessions run in the summer months usually between 7 – 9pm.

General enquires

General enquires for information and assistance can be made by emailing [email protected] 

Ratios

One instructor is required for a maximum group size of 8. The maximum booking is 24 with 3 instructors; subject to instructor availability. Note that we have sufficient kayaks for up to three sessions, canoes for two sessions and one stand up paddle boards for one session.

Cost

£48 per group per session with an ASGCC instructor.
£42 (group of 8) with your own instructor (see notes below)

Notes on Groups providing their own Instructor/s:

Send the completed application form with copies of the coaches documents to [email protected]

No bookings with own instructors can be accepted without copies of the permits or appropriate documents. A refund will be given if the documents are correct

Instructors must have

  • a current first aid, safe guarding and safety
  • supply current Canoe/Kayak/SUP Permit for Scouting and
  • copies of Coaching Award and British Canoeing membership for Girlguiding

Payment

  • The ASGCC preferred option of payment is via pay-pal which automatically will confirm your booking.
  • Payment by bank transfer (BACS) option will create a provisional booking. The ASGCC bank is Lloyds; sort code: 30 94 80 & account number: 00152121. Please email when transfer is made with the identifying reference to the above email address so your payment can be identified.
    Your session/s will remain provisional for 14 days. After which, if payment is not received, the sessions will become available again for booking. Delays can occur with this booking option as human checks are required before confirming the booking.
  • If you are making the booking on behalf of someone else we will require the contact details of the person in charge of the group on the day.

Cancellations

  • All session cancellations by the hirer will be subject to a handling charge of £5.
  • Sessions cancelled within four weeks of their due date; the refund, less handling charge, will be dependent upon the sessions being re-booked.
  • A full refund will be given for any sessions cancelled by ASGCC due to the weather, instructor shortage, water quality, or as directed by the harbour master.
