We offer adult canoeing and kayaking courses for members of Scouting and Girlguiding during summer weekends.
No paddling experience is needed to sign up to these courses. However you should be water confident and be able to swim 25m while wearing a buoyancy aid. By the end of the course the participants may be awarded the British Canoeing Discover Certificate.
Two-day adult kayaking courses suitable for beginners or intermediate paddlers working towards the British Canoeing Discover Award, Explore Award or a Scouting Permit are available on the following dates:
We are pleased to be able to offer our two day Explorer canoe course again. This is suitable for members of Scouting aged 14-18. You will learn lots of useful canoeing skill and have great fun on the water. You may be awarded the Paddle UK Discover Award after completing both days.
New for 2025 we will be offering one day adult paddleboarding courses on the following dates:
On demand we organise adult one off sessions, for example fairy light Girlguiding leader night paddles, or summer evening adult SUP taster sessions. If you would like a session organised for adults in Scouting or Girlguiding, please enquire and we will try to match you with a suitable instructor. Charges are similar to youth taster sessions, but can be charged per person rather than per group to make organisation easier.
